Abstract. We study the asymptotic integration problem for a general class of second-order

nonlinear delay di
erential equations. It is shown that if the equation

(p(t)x0)0 + q(t)x = 0

is nonoscillatory on a positive half-line, then the delay di
erential equation

(p(t)x0(t))0(t) + q(t)x(t) = f(t; x(g(t)))

has solutions with prescribed asymptotic behaviors. The results are illustrated with examples.
